Which one do you have?
- 126710BLRO 'Pepsi' (2018–)The flagship steel GMT; strong premium over retail.
- 126710BLNR 'Batman' (2019–)Jubilee-bracelet Batman; the 2013–2019 Oyster-bracelet 116710BLNR is priced separately.
- 126720VTNR 'Sprite' (2022–)Left-hand crown, green/black bezel — divisive design, scarce supply, high premium.
- 126711CHNR / 126715CHNR 'Root Beer'Two-tone and Everose gold versions; priced nearer retail than steel.
- 116710LN and 16710All-black ceramic and the aluminium-bezel 16710 — the accessible references; 16710 dial and bezel variants matter to collectors.
What moves the price
- 01
Bezel colourway and reference set the price — a Pepsi and a black 116710LN are thousands apart in the same condition.
- 02
Bracelet: Jubilee vs. Oyster is a reference-defining detail on the Batman, and the bracelet's originality is checked.
- 03
Steel vs. two-tone/gold: the premium over retail lives in steel; precious-metal GMTs trade nearer their higher retail.
- 04
Box and papers add a real premium, and papers confirm the reference and bracelet configuration the watch shipped with.
- 05
Bezel condition on ceramic models is generally excellent; on the 16710 the aluminium insert fades and is a collectible detail in itself ('faded Pepsi').
- 06
Discontinued references (116710BLNR, 116710LN) hold value well because current production is limited and the designs are unchanged in spirit.

The full story
The GMT-Master II is the Rolex sports model people know by nickname rather than number, and the nickname is the price: 'Pepsi' (red/blue bezel), 'Batman' (black/blue), 'Sprite' (black/green, with the crown on the left side), 'Root Beer' (brown/black two-tone). Steel GMTs trade above retail like the Submariner and Daytona, with the Pepsi and Sprite usually leading.
The current generation (2018 on, references beginning 1267xx) uses the newer movement and, for the steel models, a Jubilee bracelet as standard — the Batman moved to Jubilee in 2019 (126710BLNR), which is why an earlier Oyster-bracelet Batman (116710BLNR, 2013–2019) is priced separately. The all-black 116710LN (2007–2019) is the accessible ceramic GMT, and the 16710 (1989–2007) with its aluminium bezel is the vintage-adjacent entry with several collectible dial variations.
Used (eBay listings): the Rolex GMT-Master II averaged $14,166 on Sep 11 and $13,745 on Oct 16, so prices fell 3% over 36 days of tracking. The lowest daily median was $13,447 (Oct 7) and the highest $15,108 (Sep 29).

Questions
Which GMT-Master II is worth the most?
Among steel models the Pepsi (126710BLRO) and Sprite (126720VTNR) usually lead, with the Batman close behind. Gold and two-tone versions cost more new but resell closer to their retail.
Is an older Oyster-bracelet Batman worth less than the Jubilee one?
Typically a little less, and it's treated as a separate reference (116710BLNR vs. 126710BLNR). Some buyers prefer the Oyster bracelet, so the gap is smaller than the age difference suggests.
Does a faded bezel on a 16710 reduce value?
Not necessarily — an evenly faded original insert is a collectible detail on the aluminium-bezel references and can be worth more than a replaced insert. Originality matters more than freshness on that generation.
