How to tell what something is worth

Identify exactly what it is. Brand, model, size and year all change the price. Check the tag, label, sole, card back or serial number; a Jordan 11 "Concord" and a Jordan 11 "Cool Grey" are different markets.

Look at what it sells for, not what people ask. Asking prices on eBay or Mercari run high; sold prices are the real number. Expect used items to sell 10–20% below the typical asking price.

Adjust for condition. Wear, missing boxes or tags, stains and repairs pull a price toward the low end of the range. Like-new items with everything included sit at the top.
