Which one do you have?
- Retro High OGThe 1985-shape high with Nike Air tongue tags — the version collectors want and where nearly all resale premium lives.
- MidSlightly lower cut, Jumpman on the tongue, no OG designation — produced in huge numbers; general releases usually resell under retail.
- Low / Low OGThe Low OG (2015-on) has real resale demand in the right colorway; non-OG Lows mostly trade like everyday sneakers.
- CollaborationsTravis Scott (reversed swoosh), Off-White, Fragment, Dior — a separate tier where four figures is normal and authentication is mandatory.
What moves the price
- 01
Colorway is the price. "Chicago", "Bred", and "Royal" originals and their Reimagined/Lost and Found retros hold the strongest demand among general releases; a same-year seasonal colorway can sell for less than retail.
- 02
Deadstock vs. worn is close to a different market — StockX and GOAT's authenticated marketplaces only take unworn pairs, so a worn Jordan 1 sells through eBay or Depop at a real discount even in great shape.
- 03
Size affects price more than most sellers expect: very small and very large men's sizes (7 and below, 14 and up) often trade higher because fewer were made, and popular sizes (9–11) have the most competition.
- 04
Retro year matters. A 2015 or earlier retro of an iconic colorway can be worth more than the 2022 re-retro; the box label's date code and style code tell buyers exactly which one they're looking at.
- 05
Box and accessories: the original box with matching size label and the extra laces are expected on deadstock pairs; a missing or replacement box knocks a pair off StockX entirely.
- 06
Yellowing of the midsole and toe box, cracking on the leather, and heel drag are checked closely in listing photos — they move an "unworn" claim into "worn" territory fast.

The full story
The Air Jordan 1 is the shoe that created sneaker resale, and it's still the model with the widest spread between colorways: a general-release Retro High OG can sit near its $180 retail on the secondary market while the same silhouette in a Travis Scott collaboration trades for well over $1,000. Nothing about the shoe itself changes — the colorway, the release quantity, and whether the pair is deadstock are the entire price.
The first thing to pin down is which Jordan 1 you have. The Retro High OG (the 1985-shape high-top with Nike Air on the tongue) is the collector's version and carries the resale premium; the Mid and the Low are different, more widely produced shoes that mostly trade at or under retail unless they're a collaboration. "Jordan 1" on a listing with no height stated is usually a Mid, and buyers know it.
Deadstock (StockX): the Air Jordan 1 averaged $154 on Sep 11 and $152 on Oct 16, so prices held roughly flat (-1.3%) over 34 days of tracking. The lowest daily median was $144 (Oct 3) and the highest $161 (Oct 8).

Questions
Are Jordan 1 Mids worth anything on resale?
Mostly close to retail or below for general releases — the Mid is produced in far larger quantities than the Retro High OG and isn't the collector's version. A few Mid colorways and collaborations do resell above retail, but assume the Mid premium is small unless you can find your exact colorway selling higher.
What's the difference between the Chicago 'Lost and Found' and an original Chicago?
Lost and Found (2022) is a retro of the 1985 Chicago colorway with intentionally aged details; it released widely and trades in the low hundreds. A true 1985 original is a vintage collectible worth thousands in wearable condition — and 1994 and 2015 Chicago retros each sit at their own price level in between.
Should I sell a deadstock Jordan 1 on StockX or eBay?
For a deadstock pair with box, StockX or GOAT usually gets a stronger price because buyers pay for authentication; expect about 10–12% in fees. Worn pairs can't be sold there at all, so eBay, Depop, or a local Facebook Marketplace sale are the options — price them from worn comps, not deadstock ones.
